Benefit 'Goodies A Go-Go' Review

Long time, no speak! College work is currently a nightmare and this is currently my form of procastination (shh)...
Anyways, for Christmas I was gifted this beautiful Benefit 'Goodies A Go-Go' kit which I love so much. It contains:
♡ 4 amazing powder eyeshadows in 'call my bluff', 'thanks a latte', 'gilt-y pleasure' and 'kiss me, I'm tipsy.' (firstly the names have to be the best I have ever come across)
♡ 'Stay don't stray' eyeshadow primer mini
♡ 'They're real! mascara mini
The eyeshadows have amazing pigmentation and blend like a dream. The quad can make so many amazing combinations and they all work well together to create almost any look you desire.
I am a lover of all eyeshaow primers and find they last forever and this defiantly isn't an exception, it's so creamy and makes sure the eyeshadows stay put without smudging all under my eyes by the end of the day which isn't really a look I personally go for...
Finally the hyped up 'they're real' mascara is sadly worth the hype. I say sadly because of the price of the full sized version in comparison to the drug store ones I usually go for but it is so worth it because this mascara works magic on your lashes and makes them look insane.
The only small problem I do have with this kit however is the size that could definitely be reduced. this is only a problem if you want to travel with it but if I'm honest I love it so much I wouldn't mind this at all taking up extra room in my luggage.
I believe this is still available from Benefit and lots of other stores like Boots. Go grab it because this is the perfect eye kit that ticks all the boxes.

90's Inspired Makeup Look

After my recent purchase of this turtle neck top from New Look (featured in this hall) I have been experimenting with changing my make-up look a little. I have always been one to shy away from black eye shadow but I find the little definition it adds in the crease makes it look very 90's and I don't think the picture does it justice either. I think paired with dark nude lips it makes a classic day or night makeup look and I love it!

Products used:
♡ Seventeen Stay Time Concealer
♡ Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
♡ L'oreal Infallible 24 Hour Foundation
♡ Collection Pressed Powder
♡ Bourjous Bronzing Powder
♡ Sleek 'Rose Gold' Blush
♡ Rimmel London Brow Pencil
♡ Bobbi Brown Christmas 2014 Paller (colours used: both matte browns across the lid and the black lightly in the crease)
♡ Collection Volumising Waterproof Mascara
♡ Chanel 'Mademoiselle' Lipstick

Try something that you shy away from you might end up loving it like I do now with black eye-shadow!

Little Mid-Season Clothing & Beauty Haul

So someone (me) went on a little shopping trip last weekend and couldn't resist picking up a few bits as I find this is the perfect time of year to go shopping because I find all the best stock is out and I will never get enough of winter clothes!

Ok, you're probably all thinking 'I'm pretty sure you just brought a pair of black chelsea boots in your last haul what are you playing at?' but I regret to inform you after almost daily wear for a good 4 months they died and the sole started detaching itself *moment of silence*. Anyways, I realised as materialistic as it's sounds I cannot live without a good pair of chelsea boots, they go with everything and ah I just love them. I decided upon choosing this pair from New Look not only because they were in the sale for £13 (!!) but because I love how they were a little quirky and different with the elastic section being a slightly different shape compared to your bog standard chelsea boot.

I am a hater of those cardboard feeling tight skinny jeans - I'm one for comfort with clothing so these are the best thing I think I have potentially ever purchased. These are in fact leggings that look just like jeans and I've even asked my friends if they think they are leggings or jeans and they all said jeans. As well as having the comfort factor these have to be the most flattering item of clothing I own. Unlike regular jeans/ leggings they have been cut in such a way that they don't cling to weird places and the seams have been put in such an idea place that they make you legs look even more fabulous. plus they are high waited but not too extreme which I love love love! These are a new staple to my wardrobe - I got these from Next which is somewhere I never shop but maybe i will start to...

Also from New Look I picked up this little purse because I was in desperate need for a new one. I'm not completely in love with this one but it was a necessary purchase and hopefully I will find an ideal one soon. I just think this size is so practical.

On another note this jumper from New Look I am utterly in love with! It's your bog standard grey jumper that goes with everything but because of the altered stitching it makes it hand and look really flattering on. Plus its the perfect length between cropped and regular that it goes with any bottoms if it's a skirt, jeans, leggings ext.

I'm not usually one for following huge style trends because fashion always changes and to be honest it can be a pain/ a lot of money to keep up with. However I'm really loving this subtle turtle-neck trend going on at the moment and I think as its been modernised from an old classic that this could be around for a long time. I really like this one I found from one of New Looks brands 'Cameo Rose'. I don't know what else to say about this other than I love it and it's pretty flattering too - I think this pairs really nicely with the leggings I brought from Next *heart eyes*

Finally I made a cheeky trip into Boots. As usual I picked up my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer because mine has reached its last legs and dried up. I was also in need of a new foundation as I'm still on the hunt for the perfect one and I spotted L'oreal had a deal going on which meant I could buy two products for £14. I went ahead and got the Infallible foundation in the lightest shade going which is actually a perfect match and one of their lipsticks in '302 Bois De Rose' which I have already made a blog post about which you can check out here

Drug-store Lipstick Dupe: Chanel Rouge Coco 05 Mademoiselle

I have recently become a lover of dark nude lipsticks since I was generously gifted Chanel 05 Mademoiselle for Christmas and I can't get enough of it. It goes so so well whatever makeup look I decide to wear and is defiantly an amazing 'you lips but 1,000 times better' colour which i adore and i'm sure this would suit all skin tones! I prefer darker nudes to lighter nudes as they can wash me out completely.
I was wondering around Boots today with my mum and at the L'oreal stand spotted this gorgeous lipstick in the shade '302 Bois De Rose' and it wan't until I got home I realised how similar the colours were. (A haul of my other purchases will be up soon...)
The price is a steal at £6.99 compared to the steep price of £25 for an almost identical Chanel version.
L'oreal                 Chanel
                                                                                   Price:       9/10                      3/10
                                                          Precise Application:     10/10                      9/10
                                                                                  Smell:       6/10                      9/10
                                                                  Lasting Power:        7/10                      8/10
I 100% prefer the Chanel version but it's a close call. If you can justify treating yourself I would really recommend buying it - If you're on a lower budget the L'oreal lipstick is just as good - I prefer the application of this product as it has a slightly pointed tip so accuracy is easy.

Bobbi Brown 'Warm Eye Palette' Review

Shades (Left - Right): Bone, Champagne Quartz, Malted, Gold, Sable & Espresso

'Jaw dropping' is the simple phrase I would use to describe this palette.
It must have been around November time when I was scrolling through the John Lewis website looking at the new Christmas beauty collections which is when I stumbled upon this. I have never owned anything from Bobbi Brown before but when I saw this my mouth literally dropped which is a first for me and make up. It is the perfect neutral every occasion palette.
It consists of a really amazing double sided brush and 6 shades of eye shadow in total. 4 being beautiful matte shades and the other 2 being shimmers. This is hands down better than the naked palette in my opinion which I never thought would come out of my mouth. I say this because this has zero fall down (apart from the shade 4th from the left called gold) unlike the naked palette which means I can make a last minuet decision of applying the shadow rather than having to apply it before my base make up to avoid a mess. The eye shadows are so creamy and apply beautifully and I just cannot speak any more highly of this palette. It's around the £30 - £40 mark which isn't too bad for the amazing quality but if you want this go and get it ASAP with your Christmas money as it is limited edition and you don't want to miss out on this. Also can we please talk about how lovely the packaging is? it looks a million dollars and when I get this out of my draw I get so excited to apply it (I'm not crazy I swear). The day I finish this palette will be a sad day. I am 100% going to check out more Bobbi Brown products.

I'll speak to you all soon,
Sarah xx
